Today we began with a poem presented by Poet Aliaya. She took us through the rhythm of a storm and brought us out changed and transformed. To give honor and recognition, we collaborated on a poem about Madiba Nelson Mandela. Our Haiku poems were on count! For example:

We discussed the difference that the audience makes in the way we deliver poetry and the confidence developed from speaking before groups of people. The poet speaks and gives voice to not only their story but also for those who cannot speak for themselves.
